The impressive trophy, historically presented by HM The Queen, is the leading 15-goal tournament in the country and has been played at Smith’s Lawn since 1955 – the Club’s inaugural year. For amost six decades it has attracted the leading players of the sport and as this tournament invariably features more than 25 teams, even qualifying is an achievement.

Pommery Polo for the Archie David Cup competition is the UK’s leading low-goal tournament and it always attracts a stong entry, ensuring several weeks of tough and competitive play. In fact, Rodolfo Ducos, who was a member of the winning team in 2006, was reported as saying: “The Archie David is very tough – one of the toughest tournaments to play in. It is a marathon.”
